So, I have some good news and some bad news.

The good news: stolen from [info]beckytheelf, we have the DORIAN GRAY TRAILER, STARRING BEN BARNES AND COLIN FIRTH AND SOME AWESOME CLOTHES.

The bad news? It's being released in September here (EEEEEEEEEEE) but... there's currently no release date listed for the US. What with this and The Young Victoria - STILL not released over there, despite being out on DVD already over here - I'm starting to think British studios really DO hate you guys.

In other news - Jackie and the Mitchells have departed for Austria. This would be far more sucky if I wasn't visiting THEM for three weeks at the end of August. As it is, I know I'm seeing her again in a month, so I can deal. We went to London and Hever Castle and Oxford, had a party on Tuesday so she could see Kent people she met last time, and I'm pretty sure she got to eat all the delicious foods she'd been missing.

I have done little since then, since all Kent friends have disappeared off on their 3-day choir course, so I've basically been hanging out at home with my parents. My graduation certificate arrived yesterday, and the photos arrived this morning. I think my mum may actually explode with glee.

Back to Durham next Wednesday, to try and hunt down a costume for a Star Wars party that weekend. Considering this is the kind of party where most people I've spoken to are going as EXPANDED UNIVERSE characters, I'm really going to have to bring my A-game. EEP.

Just watched Prince Caspian

I love the movie so, so, SO much. I mean, it's not just Ben Barnes's ability to make me regress into a 12-year-old fangirl* - Susan kicks SO much ass (GIRL IN CHAINMAIL!), as does Edmund. I actually adore all the changes they made to the book - the bit where they try to summon the White Witch, the attack on the castle, Susan/Caspian (I SHIP IT SO HARD) - and, just, I could go watch it again RIGHT NOW.

OK, so Peter's a bit of a jerk, and I tune out of the Aslan/Jesus bits, but the rest of it is EPICALLY AWESOME.

SO WHY HAVE THEY HALTED PRODUCTION ON DAWN TREADER. IT'S MY FAVOURITE BOOK! Wofflepuds, pirates, the star's daughter! PLUS CASPIAN IN CASUAL SEAFARING GEAR! WHY DO YOU DO THIS TO ME, DISNEY, WHYYYY.

* I still stand by my declaration that whoever decided Caspian should be a) played by Ben Barnes b) older and c) Spanish deserves some kind of award.

ETA: According to sources (erm, wikipedia) they haven't stopped production for good. Disney just isn't having anything to do with it any more. It looks like 20th Century Fox are going to do it instead. WE MAY STILL GET CASPIAN IN LIGHT SHIRTS HOLDING ONTO RIGGING. ALL IS WELL.

And then there was a still a whole other day of the convention left. This weekend was getting just too awesome for me to handle.

Parting is such sweet sorrow. )

This may be my single favouritest LJ entry of all time. Warning: contains excessive fangirling that may not be suitable for sensible people.

Well, here it is! My first part of my diary of the Heroes convention. It's divided into different sections so you don't have to read all the boring stuff about me that I wrote down anyway and can just skip to the Pretty People.

1. Arrival & Registration

'Hide the Rohypnol darts.' )

2. Opening Ceremony

Hug plotting is needed )

3. High School USA party

Not my favourite Petrelli brother. )

Live, from the Heroes convention!

So... I'm here at the Heroes convention.

I'm planning a huge proper recap of it all when I get home, but I just thought I'd drop in and say that it's been pretty damn awesome. I got autographs, I've had photos with some of the cast, I bought a replica of Kensei's sword with George Takei's signature...

Oh, and I kinda just went and had dinner with Sendhil, Santiago, David and Cristine.

List ten fictional characters you would have sex with (in no particular order) and tag five people to do the same.

1. Adam Monroe (Is it wrong that the first guy I thought of was a psychopathic villain? Yeah, I... I think that's kinda wrong.)
2. Ardeth Bay (I watched both The Mummy and The Mummy Returns this week. And... dayam. DAYAM.)
3. Dean Winchester (I resolved to only have one per fandom, and it took some debate between him and Sam, but El Deano ultimately won. Sam is just a little too freakishly tall.)
4. Casanova, as played by David Tennant (No explanation needed. At least, not if you've seen it.)
5. Kyle Reese (I only just saw The Terminator, OK? And fell in love with him embarrassingly quickly. "Come with me if you want to live"?? I would have followed him ANYWHERE.)
6. Captain Jack Harkness (His dabbling is innovative, apparently.)
7. Sylar (OK, I know I only said one per fandom, BUT SO HELP ME, I'M ONLY HUMAN.)
8. Apollo (He may have in fact been the Greek God of Smex.)
9. Prince Caspian (This is going by the movie trailer, not the book. Because in the movie trailer.... once again. DAYAM.)
10. Aragorn (Hey, Arwen must have been ready to give up her immortality for SOMETHING.)

Five others... er... [info]reasonablycrazy, [info]ibroketuesday, [info]squeegee_burble, [info]pyjamagurl and [info]marcus_felix, you're up.
distracted
Hey, I'll be one of the first to say the first Narnia film wasn't that great. But it looks like I'm going to be seeing the second one anyway. For one thing, I'm a completist, for another, I'm an optimist, and for another, I'm a totally shallow fangirl.

DAYAM, CASPIAN.

I already fell in love with the guy playing him within the first 30 seconds he was in Stardust, but... these photos. Yeah, I'm there. Also, Susan's armour is AWESOME. THEY GAVE A GIRL CHAINMAIL.

And while I'm shamelessly stealing bits off [info]cleolinda 's linkspam, I might as well post these.

The trailers for Wall-E and the Terminator sync up alarmingly well.

And:

Trailer for 'The Fall'

It looks to be a far prettier, and hopefully more awesome version of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (though let's face it, it couldn't get much worse). Charles Darwin as an action hero?? SOLD.

PS Can anyone tell me how to do that thing on LJ which means links don't appear as links, but as text describing what they're linking to? Like when you change LJ-cut text to read something else other than 'Read More'?
Thanks, [info]mylla !

PPS I can't BELIEVE I slept through the earthquake. Why can't they have one at a reasonable hour??

OK, so the Heroes convention has just announced that Hayden Panettiere isn't going any more.

This would normally upset me more - I mean, who's going to cancel next? - but guess who they've got as a replacement:

CRISTINE ROSE.

ANGELA FUCKING PETRELLI.

DUUUUUUUUUUUUUDE.

SHE IS THE AWESOMEST AWESOME ON THAT ENTIRE SHOW. Yes, Mohinder is beautiful, and yes, Sylar has the Sybrows, but oh man, ANGELA FUCKING PETRELLI.

The police came round again, and this time I had to give an official statement. It was simple enough - 'I got a call from Lloyd's in October asking "Did you buy this stuff?" and I said "No"' - but I was still kind of nervous. Because I also had to sign agreements to go to court and everything if they ended up prosecuting anyone to repeat my statement (not that it was likely I'd be called, the officer assured) and for some reason I had visions of some high-drama court scene.

"SO! You were PHONED about this, were you?"

"Er, yes."

"Where is this phone NOW?"

"... um?"

"Do you even HAVE a phone?"

"Er, not on me-"

*SHOCKED GASPS FROM THE GALLERY*

Letting my imagination get hyper is just one way I'm passing the holidays. I'm also watching clips of the Heroes cast on youtube (or rather, mostly Zachary Quinto - seriously, he's so adorable with Kristen Bell!! AND THE DOG. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xUB4hj-C4ZA&feature=related and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6z5Y2wcamXU) and spending far too long on the Heroes message boards.

OK, my conscience is glaring at me. To be specific - the Heroes HoYay boards.

We're not just fangirling! Honest! We're practically writing our own sitcom now. It's Sylar and Mohinder having wacky adventures across time and space. And there's also Adam, who keeps trying to kill them (the REAL reason he was trying to release the virus) and they've also adopted Lyle, who remains happily oblivious to what Sylar's like, hence the catchphrase "Dad doesn't verb objects, Molly."

This is turning into an embarrassing entry. I'll go now.

I love my fandom

OK, OK, I should be writing essays right now - it might stop me from staying up till 3am AGAIN - but while taking a break, I came across some Heroes fandom things that are just so wondrous they must be shared.

http://grey-kestrel.livejournal.com/1515.html#cutid1

A fangirl took it upon herself to track Mohinder and Sylar's interactions from the beginning. And vocalise the subtext which isn't really sub at all. It's amazing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aYd2lukwlss

A video from the Heroes series 2 finale. A certain very dramatic amazing scene... set to perfect music.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SYqfUHEukZU

Anyone who read my recap/comments/screaming about the finale will know there is a certain issue I am rather emotional about. This video is to do with that. But I never noticed a certain hope! Spoilery hope, sadly. )

And finally - The Heroes Slash Manual, including a map of everyone's relationships. Read this, and you will understand a lot about my fangirling.

http://fantasticpants.livejournal.com/35297.html

Now that I reach the end, I realise this post is actually quite embarrassing. Oh well.

I just saw the Prince Caspian trailer. Apparently it's been screening in America before the Golden Compass. They sure know their target audience, don't they?

Anyway, my point is - HI, CASPIAN. HI. YES, I WILL COME SEE YOUR MOVIE.

http://bvim-qt.vitalstream.com/PrinceCaspian/InternetTrailer/Caspian_Trlr1_Rev1_High.mov

I mean, damn. He has hot enough as Dunstan in Stardust. But now?? With longer hair, armour, determined looks and a sword AND AN ITALIAN/SPANISH ACCENT????

I think I may have to watch it again.

I don't have time for full length recaps any more, especially with snarky motivators.

You do still, however, get fangirlish squeeing. BECAUSE OH MY DEITIES.

Heroes 2x10 - Truth and Consequences )

In other news, NaNoWriMo continues apace, and I can't sort anything else for Banquet until Ellen gets back to me, causing a constant pang of worry in my stomach. It's not fun.

In other news - AWESOME.

Heroes 2x08 - Four Months Ago )

In other news, my NaNoWriMo goes well. I'm getting steadily less and less behind in my writing. I loved the bit I wrote last night - Kayushi hooked up with Eros, the man slut.
